How to create custom Open Search in Windows 7
You can now integrating your own custom search right inside the Windows Explore, using the new feature Windows 7 Search Connectors also called Search Federation.
Here is how it works:
Step 1 Create a custom .osdx file

Using this template we can customize our own search result on any particular websites.

Replace the following highlight code you can have your own Search Federations.
Step 2 Save your Open Search File
![]()
Step 3 Active it by Double Clicking
Step 4 Start search inside your own Windows Explore

There are lots other use of this great tool, for example you can also create your eBay, Amazon, Flickr search you name it.
Here the Flickr Open Search Connector show uses the picture and the preview intently, a much easy and friendly search than Flickr itself. You can also save the picture instantly.

Windows 7 Open Search Connector provides a much easier way to search your file, right inside the Windows Explore. It searches the web without using a Web Browser.
You can also download the Flickr Search Connector here and my custom search template here.
Chris Pirilo also made a set search Connector, feel free to give it a try of your own website!
