Sick of Apple’s Ads on Windows? Let’s Take a Look at the Future Windows Ads [Update]

Are you sick of Apple’s Ads on PC? It’s always the Mac Guy and the PC Guy? "Hello, I’m a Mac …. Hello I’m a PC … " Well according to thewindowsclub, Marty Martin, a film producer, has done some amazing commercials in such short period of time for Microsoft. Here is what he says about his work.

Microsoft sent us out on a tight budget to shoot 5 spots that would communicate the new approach they’re taking with Windows 7 and how it resonates with college students.

Windows 7 College Spots – Shake – Canon 5D Mark II from Marty Martin on Vimeo.

For 2 out of the 5 videos, we embarked upon creating silly abstracts spots that indirectly communicated a feature in Windows 7.
This spot is far from perfect technically. Because we were so rushed, a lot of the compositing wasn’t done with as much care as we would have liked. Each element/character in the video was shot separately then placed into the frame where we wanted everything. A lot of compositing, a lot of rotoscoping, for a little video!

Windows 7 College Spots – Catherine Feeny – Canon 5D Mark II from Marty Martin on Vimeo.

For 3 out of the 5 videos (this being one of the 3) we found 3 independent music artists to put together original tracks for the spots. This one was done by the very talented Catherine Feeny.
We lost a number of creative battles on this particular spot, and maybe we’ll toss the unabridged, heartwarming, version up one of these days.
This was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II and cut with FCP 7 as well as After Effects.

Here are a just a peak of what the up coming Microsoft Worldwide launch campaign might look like. Hold your breath, there will be more amazing videos as the launch date are just about one and half month away.

[Update] It seems like the source video from Vimeo has been blocked. I’ve manage to find the leaked video on Youtube. Here it is enjoy.

All the videos are marked private and we need a password to view them. Could you edit your post with the password?

unfortunately I think the film producer has decided to block the video

      few possible explanation

either they are trying to prevent the leak out of the “real” future ads

or because of it is still the rough editing version they have mentioned earlier, they probably don’t want it to be released to public

either way, the video is now censored. I guess it might as well means some.

but personally after seeing the commercial, I think they are doing a great job with the new Windows 7 Camping. Stay turned as I’m sure there will be more leak outs on these Ads as the launch date is getting closer and closer
